CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Statesville Avenue was blocked for hours Thursday morning in north Charlotte, after police said a drunk driver crashed into a utility pole overnight.
The wreck happened just after 1:30 a.m. on Badger Court, between Atando and Oaklawn avenues.
Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area while utility crews worked to get the power lines cleared from the road.
