Police: Elderly woman injured after dog attack

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 74-year-old woman was on Linda Vista Lane Wednesday evening in northwest Charlotte.

Investigators said two pit bulls got out of their outdoor kennel a few houses away and attacked her.

The woman was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center - Main with severe injuries to her leg. She had to have surgery.

People close to her didn't want to go on camera, but they said she is slowly doing better.

The owner of the dogs them over to Animal Care and Control.

No one answered the door when Eyewitness News went by the owners' house.

Investigators are still looking into this case.

They haven't decided whether to file charges, and there was still no word what will happen to the two dogs now being held.
