MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Mooresville police are investigating the death of a 15-year-old boy.

Late Saturday evening, the body of the teenager was found along a wooded area near Montibello Drive.

So far, police are not releasing how the boy died.

Eyewitness News spoke to some of the teen's friends who are trying to wrap their minds around the loss.

"It just hasn't really clicked with a lot of people yet that he's gone," says friend Madison Thomas.

Mooresville police say the teen's death is under investigation pending the results of an autopsy.

The victim was originally reported to be 14 years old, but police changed the age after checking with the family.

"The father gave the officer the wrong date of birth ... The victim is 15, not 14," said Mooresville Police Department Captain J. Cooke.
