SALISBURY, N.C. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened early Sunday morning outside a Salisbury restaurant.
It happened around 1:20 a.m. on Avalon Drive outside the FireWater Restaurant and Lounge off East Innes Street.
Police said 22-year-old Sharod Mathis was shot in the parking lot and taken to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center by a private car. He died at the hospital.
Officials with the State Bureau of Investigations are investigating the case with Salisbury police.
