LINCOLNTON, N.C. - A Lincoln County boy is recovering at Carolinas Medical Center after being nearly hanged from a basketball hoop Sunday.
Investigators said the boy was playing basketball on milk crates off Long Shoals Road in Lincolnton Sunday morning.
Officials told Channel 9 the boy got caught in the basketball net.
Firefighters said a man performed CPR until paramedics arrived, and the boy was then flown to CMC in Charlotte where he was listed in stable condition Monday morning.
He is expected to be OK.
