GASTONIA, N.C. — Police have arrested a man accused of stabbing another man in the chest Sunday night in Gastonia.
Officials with the Gaston County police said they responded to a home in the 100 block of Stoney Oaks Drive around 6 p.m. and found 30-year-old Brandon Lee Carlin suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
Investigators said the resident of the home, 51-year-old Larry Wayne Brown, was identified as a suspect in the case and taken into custody.
Officials said Carlin is an acquaintance of Brown and was at the home with a family member to pick up a child.
The stabbing allegedly stemmed from a social media post between the two men, authorities said.
Carlin was taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Carolinas Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, officials said.
Police said Brown has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He is currently being held in the Gaston County Jail on a $300,000 secured bond.
