ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. - A Rowan County man is accused of taking indecent liberties with two teens who police said he met on Facebook.
Rowan County sheriff’s deputies said David Garland met two 15-year-old girls on the social media site and began a relationship with them.
Deputies pulled Garland over and became suspicious after determining the age of the passenger in the car.
The deputy obtained permission to check Garland’s cellphone for possible drug information after finding a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.
The deputy found disturbing pictures and texts involving underage girls.
Garland was charged with two counts of indecent liberties with children, four counts of statutory rape and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor to engage in sex, deputies said.
Garland will make his first court appearance Friday.
