Police: Man stole beer, threatened store clerk with knife

CHARLOTTE — According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, a white man entered a University City 7-Eleven store on Sunday and took two 12 packs of beer without paying.

Police said the suspect took the packs out of the cooler, then exited the store without paying. The clerk confronted the suspect, at which time he showed a knife and threatened the clerk.

The suspect fled the scene in a red pick-up truck. Police described the suspect as a white male, approximately 25 to 30 years of age, 5 foot 8 inches tall and 165 pounds.
