CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Used Tires Express business on North Tryon, police said.
Officials said the man is in critical condition.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and Medic responded to reports of a shooting in northeast Charlotte just after 2 p.m.
The man, after being shot, ran to an apartment complex on Beechway Circle. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
A Channel 9 photographer on the scene saw police officers gathering evidence in the parking lot of a Used Tires Express business off of North Tryon as well. Several officers were also seen going into the business.
Channel 9 is asking police what led up to the shooting and if officers are searching for a suspect.
