Man arrested after SWAT situation in Monroe

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Police have arrested a man after a SWAT situation shut down part of a Monroe neighborhood for hours Tuesday night.

Officers had to block off Fletcher Broome Road at Corinth Church Road after police tried to serve a warrant on Timothy Eller.

They found writings and drawings that suggested Eller meant to harm them, so SWAT was called in.

Police said Eller had a pellet gun and they arrested him without anyone being seriously hurt.

Eller was charged with communicating threats and misdemeanor stalking.

The roads in the neighborhood were reopened before midnight.
