Police search for south Charlotte bank robber

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police need the public's help in identifying a man who they said robbed the BB&T in south Charlotte Thursday afternoon.

Investigators said the man entered the bank on Sardis Road North at 4:16 p.m. and demanded money from a teller and then left the bank on foot.

The robber is described as a heavyset, black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall wearing a black zip-up jacket, dark pants and a black knit hat.

Anyone with information on the robber is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
