CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police said they are looking for a suspect wanted in connection to a homicide in southwest Charlotte.
Channel 9 found out the victim was a detox patient and had let another patient live with him.
The roommate was not identified.
Detectives have issued a warrant for Joseph Rayfield. Police said they believe Rayfield has left the state and may be in Myrtle Beach.
They believe he killed Alfred Smith with some type of blunt object in the home on Red Hickory Lane last Tuesday.
Detectives said Rayfield could be driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a North Carolina license plate RXR-1112.
Police said the Jeep is champagne in color, has a decal of a marlin on the back windshield and a front tag with a beach scene on it.
Anyone who has seen the Jeep or Rayfield is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
