Police seeking SUV after pedestrian hit-and-run

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are searching for an SUV that hit a pedestrian Sunday in east Charlotte and just kept driving.

Investigators said the driver even came back to the crash scene at one point but didn't stop.

Police said the driver hit the pedestrian on Albemarle Road. The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses described the SUV as red or burgundy and said it could possibly be a Jeep Cherokee.

It has damage to the front end and was leaking fluid when it left the scene.
