Police source: 1 shot in attempted robbery in south Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

A police source told Channel 9 one person was shot in an attempted robbery Friday morning in south Charlotte.

Police said the shooting occurred on Lodge South Circle off Arrowood Road.

The source said two men were leaving for work when they were approached by two black men who tried to rob them.

One victim tried to run and that’s when he was shot, the source said.

The police source said investigators believe it was a random crime.

The gunmen fled the scene on foot.
