SPENCER, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting that left a teenager hospitalized Monday morning in Spencer.
An officer was flagged down near an apartment complex on Grant Street around 10 a.m. Inside the apartment he found 17-year-old Jameon Saunders, who had been shot in the shoulder.
Saunders was flown to the hospital but is expected to be OK.
Police are trying to determine if he was shot or if the shooting was self-inflicted, but said Saunders was not being cooperative.
There were witnesses in the apartment, police said, but they were not forthcoming with information either, according to investigators.
