CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A utility worker was hit Tuesday afternoon on Rama Road, according to officials.
The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. The police captain said the worker was working on Rama Road when he darted into traffic from behind a traffic sign and was hit.
The injured man was working for Bingham Cable Connections doing contract work for Time Warner Cable, according to officials. A supervisor said the man is expected to survive, but has serious injuries.
The worker was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
