CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A young woman is in the hospital Wednesday night after being struck by a car and thrown seven feet.
The accident happened at the intersection of Briar Creek and Central Avenue in east Charlotte.
Police said a woman in her 20s was crossing the street in the crosswalk when a car turning left hit her.
The woman has cuts and bruises to her legs, but she was alert and talking to paramedics before being transported to the hospital.
