Puppies escape west Charlotte house fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials are investigating how a house fire started in west Charlotte Monday morning.

When firefighters arrived on the scene on West Boulevard around 8:30 a.m., smoke was still coming from the home.

It took 30 firefighters about 12 minutes to put the flames out.

Fire officials said there was one person and two puppies inside the house at the time and that they all made it out safely.
