Rape victim outraged over possible plea deal

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte woman accused a man of grabbing her, choking her and dragging her down a road to beat and rape her last August. This man was identified as Christian Pinzon-Reyes, and he is now being offered a plea deal that the victim finds outrageous.

The plea offer would mean a four-year prison sentence for Pinzon-Reyes, according to the call the victim received from the District Attorney's Office on Tuesday.

At the time of Pinzon-Reyes's arrest, he was charged with second-degree rape, kidnapping and assault. The new plea offer would minimize the charge to attempted rape, according to the victim.

The woman plans to attend Pinzon-Reyes's hearing next week where he could agree to the plea offer. She also hopes to find out why this plea deal is being offered.

She says, "It's not even about me and my safety anymore. It's about I don't want any other woman to have to go through this!"?
