RICHMOND COUNTY, N.C. - Richmond County residents are organizing a fundraiser for a high school football star who drowned in a local lake.
Friends of Jaquan Bailey will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Advance Auto Parts on U.S. 74 in Rockingham.
The money will help with Bailey's funeral, which will start at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hamlet.
Authorities said Bailey died last weekend while he was swimming with friends at Blewett Falls Lake.
