STANLY COUNTY, N.C. - People in a Stanly County community said they are frightened after watching a manhunt unfold in their neighborhood.

Residents said deputies have been searching for a man who attacked several people.

So far, deputies have provided little information about the events that unfolded on Love Mill Road. But, they did say deputies were called to a home there about 5:30 p.m. Friday.

One man said deputies were called after a female neighbor came to his door saying that she and several other neighbors had been stabbed by a man.

One woman said about a dozen patrol cars lined Love Mill Road as deputies shut down the street searching for the man. However, many residents do not think deputies were able to find the man.

“It’s kind of scary. I hope they catch him. I’m not sure if they have or not,” said Heather Williams, who lives in the small community.

Deputies have only said that they cannot release any information that is part of an ongoing investigation.
