Reward offered in unsolved homicide case from 2001

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest and/or conviction in a man’s 2001 death.

Marlon Darnell Ellis was found dead on Feb. 7, 2001, in a wooded area near Five Row Road in Salisbury, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said. He had been shot, investigators said.

The sheriff’s office is seeking information from the public in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 704-216-8687.
