ROCK HILL, S.C. — Details of a mixed-use development that will connect downtown Rock Hill with Winthrop University will be revealed Monday afternoon.
Rock Hill mayor Doug Echols and Sidewalk Development/Sora Phelps team will unveil the community’s name at 2 p.m. in Rock Hill.

The community, which will replace the former bleachery, includes an athletic complex, office space, a hotel, student housing and apartments.
Community masterplan:
- 160,000 square foot office space
- 157,000 square foot indoor Athletic Complex
- 120-room hotel and banquet center
- 15,000 square foot retail and food vendors
- 26,000 square foot restaurant and indoor stage complex
- 500-bed student housing
- 65-unit rental apartments
- 90-unit active adult apartments
The plan also has the development connecting directly to the campus of Winthrop University by walking trails. It will be called University Center.
