Salisbury house owned by actor is sold

SALISBURY, N.C. — (AP) The Salisbury house that once belonged to an actor who starred in "Rosemary's Baby" has new owners.

The Salisbury Post reported that Glenn and Beth Dixon now own the house that once belonged to Sidney and Suzanne Blackmer. The house was severely damaged in a fire in 1984, and the Blackmers' oldest son had once sought permission to tear down the house.

Instead, the Historic Salisbury Foundation bought the house in 2012 for almost $110,000, and the Dixons paid $150,000, closing on the 1820 house Friday.

Sidney Blackmer played the warlock in "Rosemary's Baby" and won a Tony for his role in "Come Back, Little Sheba" in 1950.

Suzanne Blackmer is remembered for holding Donald Trump at bay when he wanted her to abandon her Manhattan apartment.
