Arrest made in Salisbury homicide

SALISBURY, N.C. — Authorities say an emergency call to check on a heart attack victim in Salisbury has turned into a homicide investigation.

Police told media outlets that when paramedics and officers arrived at the home around 2 a.m. Dec. 17, they found 37-year-old Albert Shelton Jr. dead from a gunshot wound.

Investigators arrested Jamar Rahmel Robinson, 28, of Statesville Monday for the murder of Shelton. He was taken into custody at his residence in Statesville.

Robinson was charged with murder and possession of a firearm by felon. He was placed in the RC Detention Center under no bond. His first appearance was set for Thursday.
