Carolina Senate is canceling its session this week because of forecasts of more snow and ice.
Senate President Pro Tem John Courson of Columbia made the decision Monday. The House already is on furlough this week. Some Ways and Means subcommittee meetings were still scheduled. But they could be canceled.
The Legislature's normal Tuesday-through-Thursday schedule is to resume next week.
It's the second time in three weeks that winter weather will keep legislators from meeting. The House and Senate canceled the session Jan. 28 through 30, when about two inches of snow fell in the Columbia area.
Gov. Nikki Haley has scheduled a conference call Monday afternoon with state emergency officials.
The meeting comes days after their conference call to go over the last event.
