CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A carjacking Wednesday night led to a serious wreck that shut down Brookshire Boulevard for hours, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officials said.
Police charged a 15-year-old boy for his involvement.
Officers located a suspected vehicle in a carjacking on Rozzelles Ferry Road at West Trade Street, but when they tried to pull the car over, the driver fled.
That started a chase, which ended in a crash with two other vehicles on Brookshire Boulevard at Idaho Drive near Interstate 85.
The two people in the carjacked vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A bystander from one of the other vehicles had minor injuries.
The teenager was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing to elude, driving without a license and resisting arrest.
