STATESVILLE, N.C. — On Friday the Alexander County Sheriff's Office arrested John Paul Berry, 29, of Bennett Road and charged him with one felony count of sex offender being on a child premises, according to a police report.
The police report was filed on Feb. 12 with the Iredell Sheriff's Office in reference to Berry, a registered sex offender, being at a restricted location in Statesville.
He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and placed under a $20,000 secured bond.
Berry was convicted in 2008 for indecent liberties with a minor and was placed on the offender registry.
