SALISBURY, N.C. — Deputies in Rowan County arrested a man they said was in the country illegally after high-grade marijuana was allegedly delivered to his home.
Last Friday, deputies, with the help of the United States Postal Service and the Landis Police Department, executed a warrant at a home on Cypress Lane in Salisbury.

An investigation over the course of the past year revealed that eight suspicious packages were sent to the home from California, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
"To know that my nephew is running around playing around that kind of stuff with other kids,” neighbor Clara Bradley said. “That's not OK."

Investigators said California is a known source state for high-grade marijuana being shipped to North Carolina through the Post Office and other parcel service companies.
Authorities said it happens often, and they catch less than 5 percent of what is delivered.
The search warrant was executed after another package was delivered, and deputies found 11 pounds of high-grade marijuana worth $30,000 inside the package.
More marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a handgun were also found in the house, authorities said.
Mario Andres Solis-Delgado, 33, was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana by possession. He told deputies he was a Mexican citizen and in the United States illegally.
Solis-Delgado was placed under a $50,000 bond and later posted bail and was released.
Rowan County does not participate in the 287(g) program, which holds undocumented immigrants in jail for ICE officials.
Deputies said the investigation is ongoing.
