ROCK HILL, S.C. — A Rock Hill man told authorities that someone cut the heads off six of his chickens and then put the birds back in their pen, according to Channel 9's partners at the Herald.
According to a York County Sheriff’s Office report, it happened Saturday at a home on Canberra Drive.
The owner told deputies that someone entered a fenced area on the back of his home and cut the heads off six of his chickens.
Deputies reported that there was hardly any blood in the caged area, and the owner told investigators that he thinks whoever killed the animals took them away, hung them upside down somewhere and mutilated them before being brought back to the caged area.
Three of the chickens were placed back into the pen, and the other three were in the yard.
The owner said he had cameras in front of his home but that they weren’t recording at the time of the incident.
No arrests have been made.
