Sheriff's Department raided illegal dental clinic Thursday

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department raided an illegal dentist's office Thursday off Highway 601.

Sgt. Tessa Burchett said two brothers were operating an unlicensed dental clinic for months, catering to immigrants who paid cash.

They started investigating after a patient got a bad infection and filed a complaint.

"There was actually a patient in the chair when we came in, and then their staff, dental assistants," Burchett said.

The clinic contained two full dental examination rooms with chairs, lights, needles and an X-ray machine.

They used a shop-vac for suction.

Investigators also found pain killers and antibiotics. Investigators are warning people to stay away from others like it.

"We don't want people who are not licensed operating on people." Burchett said.
