Showers, storms before warmer temperatures

CHARLOTTE — There will be clouds and occasional showers on Sunday afternoon keeping traditional July heat away from Charlotte. Temperatures on Sunday will be around 80 degrees, well below average for this time of year. Rain will pick up again on Monday.

Temperatures will be a little warmer on Monday, but showers and storms will keep the temperatures in the mid-80s. There will be heavier rain and thunder in Charlotte. Rain will develop around lunchtime and continue through the afternoon.

There is a chance for more storms on Tuesday. The temperatures will begin warming up after that, reaching the mid-90s by Wednesday.
