STATESVILLE, N.C. — At the request of the Iredell County Sheriff, the N.C. Center for Missing Persons has canceled the Silver Alert for Joseph Eason Cooke.
Police were searching for Cooke, who wandered off from his nursing home in Iredell County.
A Silver Alert was issued for the 84-year-old.
Citizens were asked to be on the lookout for Cooke, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
He was last seen at Heritage Place Nursing Home on Eufola Road in Statesville wearing rolled up blue jeans, white socks, a green t-shirt and brown bedroom slippers.
Anyone with information about Cooke should call Deputy JJ Carroll at the Iredell County Sheriff at 704-878-3100.
