Silver Alert canceled for man missing from Morganton adult care facility

MORGANTON, N.C. — A Silver Alert has been canceled for a man who authorities said was reported missing from an adult care facility in Morganton.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued the alert after 47-year-old Shawn Russ Barlow was reported missing from McAlpine Adult Care, on Kathy Road.

Barlow is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a baseball cap and tennis shoes.

Around 10 a.m. on Friday, authorities said the Silver Alert for Barlow had been canceled but did not release any other details.
