LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A Silver Alert has been canceled in Lincoln County for Jean Brotherton Lawing, 84, who was reported missing Monday afternoon.
Lawing is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
Police told Channel 9 that Lawing was found in Saltville, Virginia and was OK. Authorities did not say how Lawing ended up in Virginia.
Family members drove to Virginia and brought her home, police said.
Lawing was last seen on Story Street in Lincolnton and officials thought she may have been going to Bojangles’ Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits in Lincolnton.
