CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Six juveniles, between the ages of 15 to 17, are in custody after police investigated after a shots-fired call near Discovery Place on Tryon Street Wednesday evening in uptown Charlotte.
Police said one shot was fired, but nobody was struck. The juveniles ran but were eventually caught.
Police said an 18-year-old is being charged for firing the gun.
The weapon was later recovered.
Discovery Place, a children's museum, closed at 4 p.m., about three hours before the shot was fired.
"We just walked out. We were completely unaware of it," said Charles Connor, who was having dinner in uptown at the time. "Evidently the police or somebody handled it pretty quietly."
