SKYDRONE9: Worker climbs 380 feet to replace camera at WSOC-TV

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A worker climbed 380 feet Wednesday to replace WSOC-TV's Charlotte tower camera.

A new camera was hoisted near the top of the tower so that Channel 9 can show viewers the Queen City skyline.

The Charlotte tower camera is used during newscasts, mostly to showcase any storms that roll through the city.

SkyDrone9 flew around the man as he replaced the camera, and captured some spectacular views of the Charlotte skyline and the area around WSOC-TV's studios on North Tryon Street.

Before flying SkyDrone9, Channel 9 asked the worker if it would be OK and he said it would not affect his work or safety.
