MINT HILL, N.C. - Some Mint Hill neighbors are still dealing with dirty water.
The Ashe Plantation HOA president, Sharon Decker, said ever since Eyewitness News reported the issue in July, the water company, Aqua, has been much more responsive, coming out twice per week, keeping her in the loop and working late into the night Wednesday.
But then, Decker said, she turned on her water Thursday morning and dark water came out. She even sent Eyewitness News a picture of a glass of brown, murky water she said she got from the faucet.
Neighbors plan to meet with state lawmakers and then maybe lawyers.
"There's people with health issues out there,” Decker said. “There's people with babies."
Eyewitness News spoke with Tom Roberts, the head of Aqua's North Carolina system. Roberts said the neighborhood runs on two wells and that one was bad, so they shut it Wednesday night and are fixing it.
"We have people at the station all day that, I believe they're still there today,” he said. “In fact, I just got an email that sort of indicates that they are working on the situation."
He said residents should start to notice a difference.
Even so, Tuesday night at 7 p.m. neighborhood leaders plan to meet with state lawmakers and maybe discuss their legal options.
