South Blvd. reopened after car crashes into power pole

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A major Charlotte roadway in south end was closed early Tuesday morning for hours after a crash knocked down a power pole overnight.

Police said around 2:45 a.m. two cars crashed on South Boulevard at Tremount Avenue.

Paramedics rushed one person to the hospital.

The crash brought down some power lines, but Duke Energy was able to fix the problem quickly so the issue didn't cause too many problems for the morning commute.

Around 5 a.m., police were able to remove the two cars involved in the crash.
