STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — Stanly County leaders decided Monday night not to keep money that is normally divided among municipalities.
Dozens of people attended the special meeting after some commissioners proposed keeping nearly $2 million from sales tax revenue, rather than splitting it among local towns.
That would've meant major cuts for municipalities across the county.
