Student brings gun to Shelby High School

SHELBY, N.C. — A student took a gun to Shelby High School Friday, Cleveland County Schools officials said.

The weapon was not loaded and no one was hurt.

Officials commended students who spoke up and told a school resource officer about the gun.

Parents have been notified, officials said.

It's not clear what discipline that student may face.
