CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said a suspected drunk driver crashed his car overnight into a barrier outside a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police office in uptown.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. at the office on East 7th Street when investigators said the driver hit plastic barriers then broke through a chain link fence.
The driver was taken into custody under suspicion of DWI, but their name has not been released.
No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
