ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — An 18-year-old driver was killed in a rollover crash Saturday in Rowan County, the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.
The teen was driving his SUV just before 7 p.m. westbound on Goodman Lake Road when he drove off the right side of the road and then the left side of the road.
He then overcorrected the vehicle, causing it to roll, officials said. He was thrown from the vehicle and killed, according to officials.
A 15-year-old passenger was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center. Officials have not released the person's condition.
Officials said the crash is still under investigation and it is unknown if speed was a factor.
