TIMELINE: Bianca Tanner homicide investigation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — 12:37 p.m. June 8: Bianca Tanner was reported missing by her boyfriend, Angelo Grayson Smith Jr. Tanner was reported as last being seen on Druid Circle. Read more on this story.

June 11: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Detectives searched the apartment from 11 p.m. before to 4 a.m.

June 12: CMPD Chief Rodney Monroe announces that the case is elevated to a homicide investigation. CMPD confirms that they are conducting a search in an area off of Statesville. Read more on this story.

 2 p.m. June 15: CMPD canvass the neighborhood near the 1000 block of Druid Circle. CMPD questions Angelo Smith's friend.

June 16: Channel 9 learned from police that Bianca Tanner's 3-year-old son told police, "Mommy got a spanking with the belt. Angelo kicked mommy's butt and made her cry."

CMPD reports reveal Smith had an "outstanding warrant for domestic battery" in Arkansas. The Springdale Police Dept. says Smith's former girlfriend reported Smith "threw her onto the bed and covered her face, both mouth and nose, with his hand smother her." Read more on this story.

June 20: New documents reveal a possible suspect in the disappearance of Bianca Tanner suggest that a truck driver from Thomasville is a person of interest in the missing school teacher case. Read more on this story.

June 22: CMPD issued a warrant for the arrest of Angelo Smith. Smith was charged for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

June 25: Channel 9 learns from Angelo Smith's attorney that Smith is not in the Charlotte area, but was in the process of making arrangements to turn himself in on a warrant for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Read more on this story.

June 26: Angelo Smith is arrested in Chicago by U.S. Federal Marshals. Read more on this story.

July 1: Angelo Smith arrived overnight at CMPD HQ. Smith's bond was set at $100,000.

July 2: Angelo Smith's attorney, Kenneth Snow, gets his bond lowered to $20,000.

Midnight July 3: CMPD starts search in Steele Creek area after witness provided information on possible remains of Bianca Tanner.

4:30 a.m. July 3: CMPD Chief Rodney Monroe says remains of Bianca Tanner found in the Steele Creek area in southwest Charlotte.
