ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A busy road in Rowan County was blocked Thursday morning after a crash involving a U-Haul truck and tractor-trailer took out power lines.
The crash happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. on NC Highway 150 near Briggs Road, just west of Salisbury, and was blocking both lanes.
According to Rowan County Communications, the tractor-trailer got tangled up in power lines after the U-Haul truck took out two power poles and two transformers.
No injuries were reported.
Duke Energy officials said nearly 400 customers lost power because of the outage but hoped to have everything restored by 7 p.m.
Cleanup efforts were underway but the road was expected to remain closed throughout the afternoon.
