ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a van shut down I-85 southbound Friday morning in Rowan County near Spencer.
Troopers said all lanes were closed near exit 79, which is Andrews Street. A medical chopper was called in to help those injured in the wreck.

Officials said the tractor-trailer was parked on the shoulder of I-85 and attempted to merge onto the interstate, when it was hit by a minivan.

A man and woman in the minivan were airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Winson-Salem. The extent of their injuries are not clear.
Troopers said charges are pending in the case.
