CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A ramp along Interstate 40 in Catawba County is closed Wednesday after a tractor-trailer overturned, spilling 77,000 pounds of chicken waste on the roadway.
Officials said the crash happened at Exit 121 on 33rd Street Southwest near Long View.
Police said drivers can take I-40 west to Exit 119 for Henry River Road to get around the closure, then get back on the interstate to head east.
The ramp is expected to stay closed until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday while the mess is cleaned up.
