CHARLOTTE, N.C. - In a close vote Tuesday, Mecklenburg County commissioners decided on a new chairperson.
Pat Cotham was removed as the board's chair.
The position was given to Commissioner Trevor Fuller.
Cotham and Fuller were both nominated, but Cotham withdrew after it was clear Fuller had gained majority support.
Some commissioners were upset with Cotham after County Manager Harry Jones was fired in May.
