Troopers: 2 in custody after chase reaches 90 mph on I-85

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said a car was going more than 90 mph on Interstate 85 when they started chasing Tuesday morning.

The chase eventually ended when the driver gave up in Kannapolis, troopers said.

The car got off I-85 at U.S. 29.

Troopers said the car and license plate were stolen out of Pennsylvania.

Two people were in custody, according to troopers. There were 10 sets of stolen keys found in the console for cars out of Pennsylvania, according to troopers.
