Updated:CHERRYVILLE, N.C. —
North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers were investigating a collision between a train and a car early Wednesday morning.
Troopers said the accident happened just after 2:30 a.m. at the crossing on Hephzibah Church Road, just off Lincolnton Highway.
Paramedics took one person to Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Shelby with potentially life threatening injuries.
Troopers are still trying to determine how the crash happened.
